How to Reach Shipkila Pass
Reaching Shipkila is an adventure in itself. The journey takes you through rugged valleys,
wild rivers, and ancient Kinnauri villages, ending near the Indo-Tibetan border.
1. Reach Shimla: By road from Chandigarh/Delhi via NH-5 or by air (Shimla/Chandigarh).
2. Shimla to Kalpa / Reckong Peo: Drive through Rampur → Karcham → Powari →
Reckong Peo → Kalpa.
3. Kalpa to Namgia via Sumdo and Khab: Cross Sumdo and the iconic Khab Bridge.
4. Trek to Shipkila Pass: Final approach from Namgia village (restricted access, special
permit required).
